#8 Wedding(s) Planner ♥

Checklist
Everyone knows that planning a wedding is not an easy mission... Can you imagem planning 2? So, organized brides like me, who are busy with work and college, (and need to cut some costs out by not hiring a wedding planner) make a little list:

JANUARY (11 months before)

- Officially announce we are getting married to Family and Friends 

- Discuss and set a wedding date - Dec 17th 2016 

- Make our own personal wedding website - we're using this old blog! 

- Develop a budget and decide how expenses will be shared 

- Discuss level of formality, number of guests - 200 

- Visit and reserve our reception site - GreenTree Country Club 

FEBRUARY (10 months before)

- Choose our wedding parties - bridesmaids and groomsmen 

- Decide on a color scheme - light pink, silver 

- Decide on honeymoon plans - Cancun, Mexico 

MARCH (9 months before)

- Make necessary arrangements for time off from work 

- Make a neat file for contracts, forms and important papers 

APRIL (8 months before)

- Start compiling our invitation list 

- Decide place for Bachelor/Bachelorette Party - NYC 

MAY (7 months before)

- Select readers for ceremony 


- Schedule a date and a place for Bridal Shower - Oct 22nd 


JUNE (6 months before)


- Shop for the Bridal Gown - Kleinfeld 


- Research a make-up artist and a hair stylist 

- Research a Florist and choose floral arrangements 

- Research a DJ for reception entertainment 

- Research a photographer and videographer 

JULY (5 months before)

- Take the Pre-Cana (marriage preparation) course 

- Discuss and set a NEW wedding date - Nov 25th 2016 


- Choose and book a site for the BR ceremony - Helvétia 


- Select Bridesmaids' dresses 


- Register for Wedding Gifts for Bridal Shower 


- Book flight tickets to Brazil 


- Make and address Save the Date 


AUGUST (4 months before)

- Send out Brazilian invitations 

- Purchase bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts 

- Order Bridesmaid's dresses 


- Select and reserve the Groom and Groomsmen tuxedos 


Book wedding day beauty appointments 


SEPTEMBER (3 months before)

- Send out Bridal Shower invites 

- Order formal invitations 

- Hire a limousine to take Bridal Party to the reception 

- Finalize Honeymoon plans 


OCTOBER (2 months before)


- First wedding gown fitting 

- Make Bridal Shower favors (bridesmaids' help) 


Have a Bridal Shower! 


- Have the items:
 Cake Top 
• Cake Knife 
• Toasting Glasses 
• Guest Book and Pen 
• Ring Pillow 
• Flower Girl Basket 
• Wishing Bubbles 

- Finalize invitation list 

- Address US wedding invitations 

- Send out American invitations! 


- Make a list (and keep record RSVP's) 


- Second wedding gown fitting 



NOVEMBER (1 month before)

- Shop for wedding rings 

- Purchase:
 Head piece 
• Garter 

- Select songs:

 Wedding Party  
 Mr. & Mrs. (This Girl) 
• First Dance (As long as you love me) 
• Parent Dance (Wind beneath my wings) 
• Cake cutting (Lucky) 
• Bouquet tossing (Single ladies) 
• Garter remove (Let's get it on) 
• Garter tossing (Bring em out) 
• Last song (Empire State of Mind) 

- Final fitting for wedding gown and tuxedo (remember to bring wedding shoes, veil, and proper lingerie needed) 

- Pick up wedding rings (and check engraving before leaving the store!) 

HAVE OUR WEDDING PART 1 IN BRAZIL


Have a Lingerie Shower! 

DECEMBER (2 weeks before)

Finalize music playlist 

- Contact guests who have not responded 

- Final consultation/confirmation with all services/venders 

- Make favors for the reception - table names... 

- Organize any accessories needed to be replaced such as ring pillow, flower girl basket, garter, and "something old, new, borrowed, and blue" 

ONE WEEK BEFORE

- Pack for Honeymoon 

- Finalize guest count 

- Make seating plans for the reception 

- Discuss any last minute details with the bridal party 

ONE DAY BEFORE

- Schedule a massage to reduce stress 

- Get nails done! (get hair "prepared") 

- Get in bed at a reasonable hour so that we'll look and feel our best for our wedding 

THE WEDDING DAY!

- Wake up early and eat a good breakfast 

- Enjoy the beauty day getting dressed for the 2nd time 

- Relax, smile, and have fun on our BIG DAY PART 2 IN THE USA

    We keep our fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly and as perfect as possible from now on. BTW, have you sent the Brazilian invitations already? Just to keep track of ours, lol... One more thing: may I suggest, on top of your "short" list of actions, that you or possibly Dessa, might setup your wedding site on https://www.icasei.com.br/? A couple of friends who recently got married made arrangements with icasei so that invitees could send virtual gifts to the bride and groom on a very safe way, as well as the site is very good to keep record of some special moments and have them delivered on a DVD at the end of the contract, etc. Anyway, just check it out, it certainly could be useful. ;-)
